The Lost Futures is a Sydney based hybrid performance project + multimedia group operating at the edge of live audiovisual art.

Bridging the line between raw electronic music energy, mesmerising visuals and spirited stage presence, our focus is on delivering gigs where machine intelligence synthesizes with human performance to create shows that are visceral, unpredictable, and unforgettable.

For Vivid 2026, we have something very special planned - a true hybrid multimedia show that premieres the full video suite for our fourth studio music release, ‘Blessed To Excess’, to be out Nov 2025.

This album also marks a shift from Luke Burton’s solo performances into a diverse group of performers, technologists, and creative provocateurs. It’s a new era for The Lost Futures as an ensemble that bends technology and performance into something strange, funny, and electric.

Over five years and 50+ shows, from underground techno basements to Dark Mofo and indeed Vivid Sydney (2024 Tumbalong), we’ve honed a reputation for spectacle with purpose.

With Blessed to Excess, we premiere a live show that amplifies our music through immersive visuals and stagecraft, building a gig that feels both immediate and future-facing.

BLESSED TO EXCESS ALBUM

Our fourth studio release, ‘Blessed To Excess’ comes out on November 21, 2025.

We have selected four cuts from the album that represent the wide cross section of styles we employ.

Miracle - Our nod to Australian rock in the vein of Spiderbait and Amyl and The Sniffers with a new wave twist

Televisual Memory - Our soothing and relaxing ballad, using simple melody and lyric motif to conjure nostalgia

Seeing Is Believing - Our take on the Coldwave style, similar to Depeche Mode and New Order

D.O.R.K - Our full blown funk episode, paying tribute to pop funk greats Prince and The Time, with a message of staying true to the nature of dorkdom
